Science on tap - Vergeten vrouwen in het verzet
With Science on Tap we combine two great worlds: chatting with your mates in the pub and learning new things from a scientist.
How? We take our café, turn on the tap, and invite a different scientist or expert each edition. Whether it's about the mysteries of the universe, mourning, or the forgotten women in the resistance, at Science on Tap you'll learn something new each edition. And that in the relaxed setting of the pub. Copied from cities like Berlin, where it has been wildly popular for a while now.
Edition: Do Women Forget in Resistance?
During this first edition of Science on Tap we dive into the often underexposed stories of women, and specifically women who were activists. Because they exist, and how! By giving these stories a platform, we empower other (young) women and broaden the perspective of (young) men.
No dusty history lesson, but an evening with inspiring insights, surprising facts and special stories. Under the guidance of historian and literary scholar Merel Leeman you will learn more about the forgotten hero women in the resistance. Social change designer Anouk van Mil will then test your knowledge with a pub quiz.
This programme is part of the Rotterdam Year of Women.
