Samen in Zorg 3 Brecht Hermans

How can we take care of our mental well-being together? What does it mean to feel truly at home somewhere – with yourself, with each other and in the world? In Samen in Zorg (Together in Care), community theatre maker Brecht Hermans goes in search of answers. Not alone, but together with two co-makers who each bring a personal story.

In this third part of the ongoing project Samen in Zorg they create a place where everyone is welcome – with room for lightness and play, and for the depth of real encounters. A place where you can be who you are. There is no better location than Buitenplaats Brienenoord: a soothing green oasis in Rotterdam, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city and close to yourself.

The performance is a walk across the island, where theatre and nature merge. Along the way you meet special characters, inspired by the play Woyzeck by Georg Büchner – about a man who gets lost in his head and in the world. But behind the characters you increasingly see the real players appear. Their stories become your mirror.

This creates a soft, open experience in which you as a spectator are taken into a world of connection, reflection and togetherness. And hopefully you take something of that world with you, back into the city.
