Pelgrim Jam – met Grupo Puerto

Grupo Puerto brings an energetic mix of Afro-Latin grooves and melodic jazz, enriched with elements from Latin American folklore. The band unites generations from the Dutch jazz scene—from established names to new talent—and thus creates a style that is fresh, intense and expressive. Their playing is rhythmically layered, spatially well-considered and always looking for interaction. For this concert they play a special formation with Patricia Mancheño on bass. Let yourself be carried away by this rhythmic journey full of fire and finesse.

Initiator and saxophonist Irene Caumel started this session series with three pillars: supporting emerging musicians, creating mentorship with experienced artists and connecting jazz scenes in different cities. In the warm atmosphere of Brouwerij de Pelgrim, a dynamic stage was created where talent develops and generations inspire each other. During North Sea Round Town, Pelgrim Jam presents two special formations that emerged from this network—a cross-section of the talent that comes together here. Come along for the energy, the surprise and the future of jazz.

North Sea Round Town is the fringe festival of NN North Sea Jazz. For three weeks, the festival will sharpen the Rotterdam summer with live music in places you wouldn't expect - from gardens and churches to streets, music venues and public transport.
