Opening Culturele Seizoen bij TENT
Maas Theater and Dance and TENT join forces for the dance performance Waste Me. A performance that invites you to reflect on cycles of waste and renewal, and to reconsider what we choose to keep, let go of, or reimagine.
Waste Me — Special Edition live performance bij TENT
From the waste they crawl out. They are the waste, and the waste is them. In this special edition of Waste Me, created especially for TENT, two performers sing and dance, appearing in a utopian universe born from waste. Playful, wild, and a little crazy—they take you on a journey through the strange beauty of what we throw away.
Waste Me is a performance by choreographer and theatre maker Cecilia Moisio, created in 2025 as a coproduction between Cecilia Moisio Company and Maas Theater and Dance. It is a powerful reflection on our derailed consumer society, using intense physical expression and compelling imagery to explore how overconsumption shapes not only our relationship with material goods but also the way we interact with each other. We hoard, discard, and replace—objects, habits, people.
Cecilia's vision took shape in a unique scenography of used furniture and discarded materials from Rotterdam and the surrounding area, designed by Marlies Schot. Daphne Karstens' costumes are also composed of secondhand textiles and found objects, adding a tangible dimension to the work.
Waste Me invites you to reflect on cycles of waste and renewal, and to reconsider what we keep, let go of, or reinvent.
