According to Russel Shorto (American, historian, journalist) the current developments in the USA arise from elements in the American psyche.
During his lecture (in English), Russell Shorto will shed light on the current events in America by explaining what's happening and how this, which may seem like a startling shift to Europeans, actually stems from elements in the American psyche that have been present since the time of Dutch and English colonization. After the lecture, NRC journalist Bas Blokker (former America correspondent and board member of the John Adams Institute) will interview Russell Shorto (in English).
