Landscape Crafting | De route van zand
In the exhibition Landscape Crafting, you follow the path of sand; the stories are visualized in the form of installations, photographs, film, audio, and material studies.
From minuscule crumbs to massive buildings: in the exhibition Landscape Crafting, you follow the route of sand. Landscape Crafting invites you to look at the built environment with new eyes and reflect on the origin, impact, and future of the materials from which our cities are constructed. The stories are visualized in the form of installations, photographs, film, audio, and material studies.
New perspectives
In the exhibition, multiple perspectives converge: from concrete to abstract, sand reappears in ever-changing forms. Architects Holly Dale and Willie Vogel explore sand as a raw material, as a building material, as an architectural element, and its poetic representation. Artist Lara Almarcegui and designers Rink Schelling and Eva van Eck (Urban Glaze Studio) also present their work especially for this exhibition. Almarcegui combines a wall-sized graphic installation with a video work, while Urban Glaze Studio shows series of ceramics in which dredged material has been processed into glaze.
