Joe Jackson's musical journey

In April 2026, Joe Jackson will present Hope and Fury , followed by an extensive tour of the US and Europe. Don't miss his performance at Luxor. Born in Burton-on-Trent, England, Joe Jackson began performing professionally at 16. After performing in pubs and restaurants, he studied composition, piano, and percussion at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

The Joe Jackson Band and Early Successes

In 1978, Jackson formed the Joe Jackson Band and signed with A&M Records. Their debut album, Look Sharp!, was released in 1979, followed by I'm the Man and Beat Crazy . In 1981, Jackson explored swing and jump blues with Jumpin' Jive , before shifting to a more melodic, Latin-inspired sound with Night and Day (1982), which became his greatest success.

Eclectic albums and later projects

In the 1980s and 1990s, Jackson released several albums, including Body and Soul , Big World , Blaze of Glory , and Laughter and Lust . He composed film scores and collaborated with artists such as Suzanne Vega and Joan Armatrading. His instrumental album "Will Power" and the Grammy-winning "Symphony No. 1" showcased his classical influences.

Recent years and current projects

After a hiatus, Jackson returned in 2022 with the "Sing, You Sinners!" tour. In 2023, he released "Mr. Joe Jackson Presents What A Racket ," which revived the music of Max Champion. His 2024 tour featured solo performances and a full-band set featuring material from What A Racket .
