In I am Andrew, Girls in Woods dissects the online manosphere, a world dominated by influencer Andrew Tate. A world full of pick up artists, looksmaxxing, manipulation skills and misogyny. Actress Femke Arnouts, together with a dancer, reconstructs the story of a young man who, fueled by thousands of online videos, commits an act of violence against a young woman who rejects him.
In a surreal installation that blurs the boundaries between the online and physical worlds, they embody the young man, his victim, his male and female role models – and Andrew Tate himself.
With humor and radical empathy, Girls in Woods delves deep into the manosphere. From the desire to be safe and free as a woman, Girls in Woods makes a daring attempt to understand, break through, and find a new answer to the question:
