House on the wind
Two Caribbean brothers secretly build a rocket, driven by a dream that reaches beyond the stars. House on the Wind is a compelling coming-of-age drama with a historical and Afrofuturistic twist.
We are in the Caribbean in the 1960s, where two brothers want to realize their dream of space travel. It is not an empty dream, the eldest is good at mathematics and the other is an engineer in training. While the Space Race between the Soviet Union and the United States holds the world in its grip, the brothers secretly develop their own rocket, powered by a revolutionary fuel formula that they have invented themselves. In a makeshift laboratory, in their grandparents' shed with discarded laboratory equipment from Shell, they work on their dream, which reaches further than the stars.
House on the Wind is a compelling coming-of-age drama with a historical and Afrofuturistic twist. The play follows the two brothers as they navigate the political tensions of the Caribbean, the technological race of the superpowers, and their own personal struggles. Their story unfolds against the backdrop of the Cold War and post-colonial movements, where power and ambition constantly clash.
