Basti is bullied by the whole school, their mother has passed away and their father has no time for Basti. That is why they prefer to disappear, into reading stories. Unfortunately, stories always end, and then the real world is there again. Until one day they find the perfect story

steals from an old bookstore: The Story That Never, a story that never ends. The more Basti reads, the more deeply involved they become with the creatures in the book, until they can no longer go back…

The performance is inspired by the book The Neverending Story by Michael Ende. The Story That Never is played by 30 trans youth between the ages of 9 and 20.

WILD Productions is a theatre company where trans and genderqueer youth meet and make theatre with professional artists. WILD makes intimate and disruptive performances, in which dance and physical theatre are combined with text.

The players are involved in the production process as much as possible. The performances they make are wheelchair accessible and subtitled in English and Dutch.
