Finding Places Korzo Producties
Discover two dance pieces by the current generation of Korzo makers. With former dancers from the Nederlands Dans Theater and award-winning choreographers.
Lea's work can best be described as playful, poetic, soft, and a bit dreamy. Lea danced for years at the Nederlands Dans Theater and is now working hard as a creator at Korzo. In this double bill she works together with former NDT dancer Spencer Dickhaus. She says the following about that:
We enter a kind of imaginary place, a state of being; to withdraw from and get a grip on a world that is overflowing with information. Around the eternally moving thought, there is a hunger for space to let sink in. A radio silence in which to exist. To deal with interruption — both welcome and unwanted. Here we sit with reaction, question, emotion, consideration. We observe our behavior in a space where ingredients are constantly in motion: in harmony, in conflict. There is a conflict between the desire for independence and an undeniable interdependence. In the midst of the complex systems with which we are in tension and which we try to understand, this temporary escape is both a relief and increasingly difficult to achieve. Together with dancer Spencer Dickhaus and composer Boris de Klerk I try to translate this liminal, nomadic space.
