Dementievriendelijke rondleiding 'Voedsel en dieren'

For visitors with dementia and their loved ones, the Natural History Museum organizes a dementia-friendly tour. During the tour, you'll be introduced to various pieces from the collection based on the themes of food and animals.

'Food and animals, eat and be eaten!'

During the tour, you'll be introduced to various pieces from our collection, each based on the themes of food and animals. Just like the animals we meet during the tour, we eat all sorts of things, and not always the same things. Sometimes animals are eaten, even by us.

Because we take our time with each collection item, moving from one collection item to an accessible story, the tour is structured in a pleasant and relaxed way. There's room for personal input, and the tour guide uses the right tools to engage participants with the museum.

Together with a trained tour guide, you will explore the museum, stories will be shared and memories will be recalled using (tactile) objects.

After the tour, we'll take a seat in the Hoboken Salon to chat and reflect on what we've discussed. We'll do this while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea and a treat.

This tour is in Dutch and especially for visitors with dementia and their loved ones and/or caregivers of all ages.
