Biodiversiteit

This exhibition shows and is about biodiversity: the variety of all life forms on earth.

This diversity consists of the variation in all types of plants, animals, fungi and micro-organisms, but also the (genetic) variation within a species, such as colour variations. That is why we show a multitude of species, largely from our own possession. Specimens of the most well-known tribes and of many classes from the animal and plant kingdoms can be seen, mounted, pinned or potted in spirits. Within the different tribes and classes we give as diverse a picture as possible of the species richness of, for example: seaweeds, angiosperms, sponges, cnidarians, roundworms, molluscs, arthropods, echinoderms, cartilaginous fish, amphibians, mammals, reptiles and birds.
