14 mei Interreligieuze Gedachtenisbijeenkomst
An interfaith memorial service with words and music from various traditions, in memory of the bombing of Rotterdam and as a reflection on current world conflicts.
On May 14, 1940, Rotterdam lost its heart and memory due to the German bombing of the city center. The bombing is a reason to commemorate annually on May 14. What happened then, in 1940. But also what is happening in the world now. There are still wars, people are displaced…
The interfaith memorial service is part of the program that the May 14 Commemoration Committee has put together, which does justice to the many stories of Rotterdam residents and their connection with the present, past and future.
Words and music from different religious and philosophical traditions alternate, or rather: complement each other.
